MRI of the face with contrast is a safe and noninvasive test. However, the contrast material used in the test can sometimes cause an allergic reaction, so patients should inform their doctor if they have a history of allergic reactions or if they are pregnant before undergoing an MRI with contrast. Additionally, patients with certain medical conditions, such as pacemakers, aneurysm clips, or cochlear implants, may not be able to undergo an MRI.
