Purpose of the Test

Obstetrical ultrasound (USG) is a type of medical imaging that uses sound waves to create pictures of a developing fetus. A second-trimester ultrasound is typically performed between 18 and 22 weeks of pregnancy and is used to evaluate the growth and development of the fetus. In the case of triplets, the ultrasound is used to evaluate the growth and development of all three fetuses.

What the Test Detects

Preparation for the Test
