Purpose of the Test

The serum anti-sperm antibodies test is primarily used to investigate the cause of infertility in couples who are unable to conceive a child after one year of unprotected sexual intercourse. Anti-sperm antibodies can interfere with the movement and function of sperm, making it difficult for them to fertilize an egg.

When this test is required

The serum anti-sperm antibodies test may be requested when there are signs or symptoms that suggest the presence of anti-sperm antibodies or when a couple has been trying to conceive for more than a year without success.

What the Test Detects

Additional Notes
