When this test is required

The test is usually performed in an outpatient setting.

What the Test Detects

Preparation for the Test

Before the MRI KUB test, patients should remove any metallic objects such as jewelry, piercings, watches, or eyeglasses, as they can interfere with the magnetic field. The patient may be asked to wear a gown and lie on a table that slides into the MRI machine.
