When this test is required
When there is a suspicion of HBV or HCV infection,When there is a family history of viral hepatitis,When an individual has diabetes and requires monitoring of blood sugar levels
What the Test Detects
Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) to detect HBV infection,Hepatitis C antibody (anti-HCV) to detect HCV infection,Liver function tests (LFTs) to assess liver damage and function,Fasting blood glucose (FBG) to measure blood sugar levels
Preparation for the Test
Fasting for at least 8 hours before the test for blood sugar levels
Sample Requirements
A blood sample is required for this test.
