Purpose of the Test

What the Test Detects

Preparation for the Test

The images will be reviewed by a radiologist and the results will be shared with the healthcare provider who ordered the test. Sample Requirements

No sample is required for a CT pelvis without contrast. However, patients will be asked to lie still on a table while the CT scanner takes images of the pelvic area.

Additional Notes

Before the test, patients may be asked to remove any metal objects or jewelry from the pelvic area and lie still on a table that moves into a large doughnut-shaped scanner. The procedure is painless, and the test usually takes only a few minutes to complete.It is important to inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or have any allergies to contrast materials or iodine, as this may affect the safety and accuracy of the test results.
