What the Test Detects

Preparation for the Test
The patient may need to change into a hospital gown and remove any metal objects, such as jewelry or clothing with zippers or buttons, before the test. Additional Notes
As with any medical imaging test, there is a small amount of radiation exposure associated with a CT Bone/Joint -3D. The contrast dye used can also cause some people to experience allergic reactions or kidney problems, so patients should inform their doctor if they have a history of either. Additionally, the test may not be suitable for pregnant women or individuals with kidney problems.
