Purpose of the Test

It can also be used to plan for surgery or other interventions.

When this test is required

The test is typically requested by a doctor or specialist when they suspect a patient may have arterial disease or related conditions in the abdominal or pelvic region. It may also be ordered as a follow-up to previous imaging tests, such as an ultrasound or MRI.

What the Test Detects

The test is used to generate detailed images of the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries. The contrast dye injected into the patient’s bloodstream highlights the blood vessels, allowing them to be seen more clearly on the images.
