An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that measures electrical activity in the brain using small, metal discs (electrodes) attached to the scalp. Brain cells communicate via electrical impulses and are active all the time, even during asleep. This activity shows up as wavy lines on an EEG recording. The main use of an EEG is to detect and investigate epilepsy, a condition that causes repeated seizures. An EEG will help your doctor identify the type of epilepsy you have, what may be triggering your seizures and how best to treat you. Less often, an EEG may be used to investigate other problems, such as: dementia.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

MRI is the latest edition in Chughtai Lab’s radiology department. The machine provides the best quality images of the brain, spine, all joints, and organs within minutes without requiring the patient to lie in the scanner for a long time. The MRI machine does not use radiations, so it is very safe for children and pregnant women. The immediate detection of brain stroke within an hour of onset and diagnosis of breast cancer is also possible through the MRI.
Electromyography (EMG) is a technique for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. EMG is performed using an instrument called an electromyography to produce a record called an electromyogram. An electromyography detects the electric potential generated by muscle cells when these cells are electrically or neurologically activated. The signals can be analyzed to detect abnormalities, activation level, or recruitment order, or to analyze the biomechanics of human or animal movement. Needle EMG is an electro diagnostic medicine technique commonly used by neurologists. Surface EMG is a non-medical procedure used to assess muscle activation by several professionals, including physiotherapists, kinesiologists and biomedical engineers. A nerve conduction study (NCS) is a medical diagnostic test commonly used to evaluate the function, especially the ability of electrical conduction, of the motor and sensory nerves of the human body

DEXA Scan (Primus)
Chughtai Lab offers a DEXA scan, which is a high-precision X-ray that measures your bone mineral density and bone loss. A DEXA scan tends to be more accurate than a typical x-ray, because it can detect even small changes in bone loss. Doctors consider it more reliable than other methods of calculating body fat percentage.
DEXA scan can help:

At Chughtai Lab we are offering a diagnostic Breast Cancer Screening service using the latest mammographic technology.
A mammogram is a low-dose x-ray that allows doctors to look for changes in the breast tissue. It can be used to check for breast cancer in women who have no signs or symptoms of the disease to detect cancer early – when it is most treatable. A Mammography screening:

Digital X-ray facility at Chughtai Lab saves time by allowing the imaging to bypass chemical processing and through the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images.
We are also doing all kinds of digital radiography and radiological procedures like IVP and barium studies.
ETT (Exercise Tolerance Test)
The Cardioline ETT machine is available at Chughtai Lab. An Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT) can be useful for identifying early signs of coronary artery disease. It is most useful in patients who experience chest pain when they exert themselves.
We have expert cardiologists and technical staff at the facility to monitor the accuracy and results of the test.
An Echocardiograph allows the doctor to monitor the functioning of the heart and its valves. The images can also help them spot blood clots in the heart.
Chughtai Lab has an excellent echocardiograph facility monitored by expert cardiologists for:

An open MRI is configured mostly for patient comfort. It looks more like a donut, with magnets above and below the patient and wide open sides. Open MRI is ideal for patients who struggle with anxiety, obesity and children who need a parent present throughout the exam.
X-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation, similar to visible light. Unlike light, however, x-rays have higher energy and can pass through most objects, including the body. Medical x-rays are used to generate images of tissues and structures inside the body. X-rays detects bone fractures, certain tumors and other abnormal masses, pneumonia, some types of injuries, calcifications, foreign objects, or dental problems.
Essentially, a portable X-ray machine is an X-ray unit that’s smaller than a fixed one and can be moved. It allows radiographers, vets and dental professionals to take X-ray images of patients without having to call them into a special lead-lined room.
The principle is still the same, whereby it emits X-rays through a person or animal’s body, and it’s reflected back, showing up on the image as white. Having a portable medical X-ray machine comes with a lot of benefits – including:

EMG/NCS (Electromyography & Nerve Conduction Studies)
EMG and NCS are tests that measure the electrical activity of the muscles and nerves of the body, usually to an arm or a leg. The tests can help identify nerve injury or muscle disease such as carpal tunnel syndrome, a pinched spinal nerve, peripheral neuropathy, myositis, or ALS. The presence or absence of injury can be helpful in determining further treatment.
While an MRI or X-ray of the spine can provide clues about its structure, EMG and NCS tests provide data about how the muscles and nerves function. The tests add valuable information to what your doctor already knows from your history, physical exam, and imaging scans.
Fluoroscopy is a type of medical imaging that shows a continuous X-ray image on a monitor and is known as cine-radiography. Fluoroscopy is used in a wide variety of examinations and procedures to diagnose or treat patients. Some fluoroscopy procedures may be performed as outpatient procedures while the patient is awake – for example, barium swallow, i.e. upper gastrointestinal series to examine the esophagus, barium meal and barium follow-through, i.e., stomach and small intestine, or barium enema to examine the colon. IVU/IVP to examine the urinary system; sinogram/fistulogram to examine abnormal passages within the body.
