Automated PCR Testing

The Abbott m2000sp and m2000rt instruments work together to form a fully automated platform for PCR testing.  The instruments are manufactured by Abbott Molecular Division in the United States, and the tests for HBV and HCV are FDA approved.

The m2000sp performs fully automated DNA and RNA extraction for Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C, while the m2000rt performs real time PCR using cutting edge probe technology. The system can detect viral loads of as few as 15IU/ml for HBV, and 30IU/ml for HCV.

The m2000sp and m2000rt were installed at Chughtais Lahore Lab in January 2012. Using these instruments, CLL now offers the latest and most advanced PCR technology for the diagnosis of HBV and HCV.
